Katherine Heigl reveals her experiences within a "white bubble" changed the way she raised her family of multiracial origins. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said recently that, in terms of skin colour there is no difference. However, after talking to her sister who is adopted by South Korea she realized just the different ways society treats the children. Meg was asked if her treatment was different when they were out together with their parents or in the case of going out on their own. Meg replied: "Oh Sure, I've witnessed everything and I've been there all the time! This made me realize I was naive," Heigl said to Parents. Heigl admitted she became upset and believed it was crucial to put her anger towards helping the adopted children she has. Heigl's husband Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. 4 have been married for 13 years. In 2009, they welcomed Nancy Leigh (12), a daughter of South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in 2012.
